Summer fun is fast approaching so mark your calendars for the third annual Lake Oconee Village Summer Festival! The family event will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2008 during Memorial Day weekend festivities. The Summer Festival features an outdoor marketplace, live music, food, moonwalks, paddle boats and the opportunity to discover the many shops, restaurants and businesses of Lake Oconee Village. Last year's festival introduced a charitable component with organizers designating the Greensboro Dreamers, Greene County Habitat for Humanity and the Reynolds Foundation as recipients of funds raised at the "party with a purpose". Lake Oconee Village and Tantrum Wakeboards & Apparel present the Hyperlite Wakeboarding Team Exhibition on Tuesday, May 20 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Georgia Power's Old Salem Park. Pack a picnic and come to the park to see the world-class Hyperlite team perform for the Lake Oconee community. Old Salem Park is located on Old Salem Road off Linger Longer Road (turn by Gary's Garden Center). Complimentary tickets to the event can be picked up at Tantrum in Lake Oconee Village (behind Publix) beginning Monday, May 5. All others will pay the Old Salem Park gate fee to gain admission.
